This page sets out how Kaski Kamppailu ry (“we”, “us”, the “Association”) collects and processes personal data (the Privacy Statement), how this website uses cookies (the Cookie Policy), and the terms on which this website may be used (the Terms of Use).

1. Privacy Statement (GDPR)

This is the privacy statement required under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679, “GDPR”) and the Finnish Data Protection Act (1050/2018).

We have not appointed a separate Data Protection Officer; data protection matters are handled by the Association’s board. You can reach us in all data protection matters at the email address above.

1.2 What personal data we process and why

We only process personal data that is necessary for our activities as a martial arts club. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not process special categories of data unless you voluntarily provide health information relevant to safe training (e.g. an injury), which we use only to keep training safe.

Membership sign-up and the payment of fees are handled through an external registration and booking service, not directly on this website. That provider processes your registration and payment details as an independent service under its own terms.

1.3 Where the data comes from

We collect personal data directly from you (or, for a minor, from their guardian). We do not buy or collect personal data from third-party sources.

1.4 Disclosures and transfers

We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share data with service providers who process it on our behalf — for example our website host, our email provider, the external registration and booking service used for sign-ups and fees, and our website analytics provider (Google Analytics) — always under appropriate data-processing terms. Most data is processed within the EU/EEA. Some providers, such as Google, may process data outside the EU/EEA under appropriate safeguards (for example the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

1.5 How long we keep data

We keep membership data for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Data required for accounting is kept for the statutory period (six years under the Finnish Accounting Act). Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the matter.

1.6 How we protect data

Access to personal data is limited to the Association’s board members and volunteers who need it for their duties. Electronic data is stored in access-controlled systems protected by passwords.

1.7 Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data; to have inaccurate data corrected; to have data erased; to restrict or object to processing; and to data portability, where these rights apply. If you believe we have processed your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto, tietosuoja.fi).

2. Cookie Policy

3.3 Training, membership and safety

Registering for or taking part in training is subject to our separate membership and training terms and to the instructions given by coaches. Martial arts training involves physical activity and inherent risks; participants (or their guardians) are responsible for ensuring they are fit to train and for following safety instructions.

This website may link to third-party websites (for example social media). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

3.5 Limitation of liability

The website is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, this website.
